Bedtime

The house grew quiet and dark as everyone scurried off to bed. Morgan and Zane waited on the couch for their story before they too would be tucked in for the night. They looked so cute snuggled under their blankets.
With only the dim light coming from the kitchen I snapped these pictures. I could see nothing on the screen of my digital camera until I took the picture and their silly faces appeared. I must say, I have been very impressed with this little camera.

No, we have not dropped off the face of the earth as some of you suspect. I am currently in the middle of too many projects. (I will post some pictures of one of my projects very soon.) My problem is there seems to be so many things that I need to do. I have to finish one project so I can finish another project and both of these projects have to be done before I can help Scott with a third BIG project. And life doesn’t slow down.

Pine Lodge

We rented a beach house in Lincoln City called Pine Lodge. It was just off the main highway and only a short walk to the beach.

The kids loved playing with their cousins!

From the outside the house looked small but we were all amazed at how much room there was inside for 14 children and 10 adults. It was fun to catch up and laugh together. The best part however, was eating watermelon milkshakes!

Scott and I loved walking on the beach - even if it was cold!

Science is Fun!

Some of us also went to the Hatfield Marine Science center. A fisherman had brought in a captured octopus the day before. She was hiding in a small cave but we could see her eyes watching us.
The kids loved touching the starfish and other creatures and listening to the whale sounds. We watched a quick movie about a beached whale being blown up in the 1970’s and the bigger kids thought that was pretty cool.

Oregon Coast Aquarium

We visited the Oregon Coast Aquarium where we saw some pretty amazing creatures. The highlight was probably standing in the shark tunnel and watching the sharks swim all around us. YIKES!
There was so much to see and do!

Oregon Coast

We left our home on Saturday, July 5th and headed to Oregon. After taking a short break in LaGrande we continued our drive to the Oregon Coast.

The weather was cool and breezy but we had fun playing on the beach. (We wore our sweatshirts instead of our swimsuits.)

Morgan loved finding shells in the sand and running through the waves. Zane helped his cousins build sand castles – mostly he knocked them down and they re-built them. And Brittany just looked beautiful on the beach.

My Go Potty Myself!

Thursday I was busy cleaning the house and packing while the kids ran around. I heard Zane say, "My go potty myself." Since we often spend 10 minutes at a time sitting on the potty with nothing happening I didn’t run right to him. Then he said it again and I realized he was already in the bathroom.
When I walked through the door this is what I found!

So why can’t he do this every time? And notice he had my shoes on and took them off right in front of the toilet. Yep, he dribbled on them. I was just glad it was my flip-flops and not my dress shoes.

I see the light at the end of the tunnel – soon we will be done with diapers!
