The View
The view from my kitchen window is nothing special. Most days it is boring. The dog is usually curled up asleep in the middle of the lawn and occasionally a truck drives by, creating a cloud of dust, on the road just beyond the fence. And like most potato fields, the one behind our house is not very entertaining. But one morning we awoke to the sound of machinery in the field. It was harvest day. The kids were suddenly fascinated with the kitchen window. While one truck was being loaded there were at least two waiting in line. When the lead truck was full it would move out and the next truck would slip into place beside the digger just as another truck would find its place at the end of the line. The trucks moved across the field as if in a well choreographed dance, everyone knew their part. Morgan was impressed with how well the trucks took turns. Zane was excited to see what was making all the noise. Even the dog sat at the fence most of the day watching the view.
